Sometimes the right thing feels like the hard thing.
Saying no to your child's wants.
Setting rules that make them mad.
Staying firm when they cry.
Maybe you worry that being strict makes you seem less loving.
Today we honor St. Catherine of Siena, who spoke hard truths with great love.
She showed that real care means helping others grow, not just making them happy.
Your tough love is real love too.
Strong rules help strong kids grow.
Today's Prayer: Loving Strong
When I must say no today,
When the tears fall anyway,
Help me trust that love can be,
Both gentle and firm in me.
Give me strength to guide them right,
Even when they want to fight,
Let me show through rules I give,
How You want us all to live.
Tough love comes from a soft heart,
Helping them make a fresh start.
Amen.
