Holy Saturday is the quiet day, the waiting day.
The house feels still.
The world holds its breath.
We sit between grief and hope.
Maybe you worry in your own life when God seems quiet and you're stuck in a waiting place.
Today is Holy Saturday, when Jesus' body lay in the tomb while heaven was busy with the work of hope,
Showing us that quiet times are not empty times.
Your waiting is not God's absence.
Hope grows even when we can't see it.
Today's Prayer: Sacred Wait
In the quiet of this day,
When all seems still along the way,
Help me trust the work You do,
When I can't see or hear from You.
In my life when I must wait,
For Your signs both small and great,
Let me find the gift that's there,
In the pause, the hush, the prayer.
Holy God of tomb and night,
You still work beyond our sight.
Amen.
