The lights went out last night.

No phone, no TV, no hum from the fridge.

Just you and the quiet darkness.

Maybe you felt scared at first of all that stillness.

You wondered how long the food would last.

But then something peaceful happened in that deep quiet.

Saint Victor lived in a time when the world felt dark and dangerous.

He became Pope when Christians were still hiding in shadows.

God meets you in the unexpected silence.

Sometimes you need the noise to stop.

Today's Prayer: In the Quiet Dark

Jesus, when everything goes black and still,

I feel afraid and want to check my phone until

I realize You are sitting in this space,

Waiting to show me Your peaceful face.

Help me welcome what I cannot control,

Let silence heal my restless soul.

In darkness, teach my spirit how to rest,

Your presence makes the quiet blessed.

Thank You for unexpected gifts of peace,

Help me let the rushing cease.

Amen.
