You sit in the waiting room and try to stay calm.
The forms are filled out, but your mind won't stop racing.
You wonder what the doctor will say this time.
Maybe you worry about the test results from last week.
You feel scared about what might be wrong with your body.
It's so hard to wait when you don't know what's coming.

He knew that fear and pain were part of being human.
God sees you in that chair.
He knows every worry in your heart.
Today's Prayer: In the Waiting Room
Jesus, I'm sitting here afraid,
My heart won't stop, I need Your aid.
What if the news is really bad?
What if my family will be sad?
Help me trust You with my health,
You care for me more than all wealth.
Hold my hand through every test,
Give my worried heart some rest.
Whatever comes, You're with me here,
Take away my doubt and fear.
Amen.
