Scripture For Today: "But the Lord said to Samuel, 'Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.'"

1 Samuel 16:7

You made a choice that others don't understand.

People whisper about what you should have done instead.

You feel their eyes on you at church and school events.

Maybe you worry that choosing to homeschool makes you look weird.

You wonder if you're too different from the other moms.

It's hard when people judge you for following your heart.

Saint Kateri left her family to follow Jesus even though they didn't understand.

She was the only Christian in her village and people made fun of her faith.

God sees your brave heart.

He loves the real you.

Today's Prayer: When I Feel Different

Jesus, I chose a path that others can't see,

Now I wonder if I'm wrong to be me.

Their words hurt and their looks make me sad,

Help me know that You're not mad.

Show me that my heart is true,

That I'm loved by only You.

When they judge the way I live,

Help me trust and help me give.

I want to be who You made,

Help me not be so afraid.

Amen.
