College Visit, Mixed Heart ❤️
Your child might move far away! ✨
Scripture For Today: For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you.
The campus tour ends at the dorms.
Your teen looks so alive, so ready.
You smile through tears.
Maybe you're not ready for this empty bedroom.
Perhaps you worry how you'll pay for it all.
You want to hold on and let go all at once.
This hurts and heals at the same time.
Today we honor Saint Pope John I.
He blessed young people as they left home on difficult journeys, trusting God would guide them.
He understood a parent's anxious heart.
Your child's wings were always the goal.
God walks with both of you on this path.
Today's Prayer: Letting Them Go
College brochures spread out wide,
Dreams and fears both live inside.
They look so small and grown at once,
My heart both breaks and fills with love.
Help me loosen my tight grip,
Guide their path with each small step.
Watch them when they're far from me,
Keep them safe where I can't see.
Thank You for these years we had,
Hold my heart when I feel sad.
Amen.
